Hill Country Cichlid Club (HCCC) is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the advancement and/or dissemination of information relating to all aspects of the biology of the family Cichlidae, with particular reference to their maintenance and breeding in captivity.
The main goal of the association is one of knowledge exchange, and facilitate exchanges between members, the main topic being Cichlids but doesn’t exclude other fish families. To do so, we have talks, auctions and different activities depending on the seasons. We are also hosting national conventions on an irregular basis, ACA, AKA, FOTAS, etc... We are now preparing to host the FOTAS next fall.
The final aspect of our engagement is conservation. We try to discourage the production and distribution of hybrids and encourage the maintenance and propagation of fish in their natural form. We are also engaged with the CARES program which focuses on endangered species kept in the hobby.
